Ellora's Cavemen: Dreams Of The Oasis III won the CAPA!

The Romance Studio has given Ellora's Cavemen Dreams of the Oasis III their Cupid and Psyche Award (CAPA) for best 2005 erotic anthology.

This has my short story Pleasuremaid, a futuristic story about a woman who wakes up in a nobleman's garden without her memory. All Dina knows is that she wishes to help Gall in any way she can but when she remembers who she is that information just might separate them for all time.

Memories Revised released!

My Ellora's Cave quickie Memories Revised by Cricket Starr has been released from Ellora's Cave. This is a companion to my award winning story Memories To Come, about a warrior trapped and dying in a prison cell, learning from the goddess Gillian what he missed by fighting instead of pursuing love with a village woman he once saved.

What would have happened if Talia had invited the handsome stranger who rescued her from his fellow soldiers to come home with her that evening? Would she have been able to give him an excuse to return to her once his soldiering was done? And how did she manage to rescue him from certain death in a prison cell after all that time?

Find out at http://www.ellorascave.com.

Romantic Times Reviewers Choice Award nominee - Times TWO!

Okay... this is cool. The two books I got Romantic Times Top Picks for in 2006 are now also nominees for the 2006 Romantic Times Bookclub Reviewers Choice Award! I've put together a nice little rotating banner for them as you can see.

The books are:

Fangs For The Memories by Cricket Starr in the category Best Erotic Romance & Erotica Novels 2006 - Paranormal/Fantasy/SciFi Erotic Romance.

Beloved Enemy by Janet Miller in the category Best Small Press 2006 Small Press Paranormal Contemporary/Fantasy/Futuristic.

So both sides of my split writing personality as well as two of my publishing houses are nominated for awards.

Wow, this is so frick'n cool. I'm grinning ear to ear.

Memories Revised cover!

I just got the cover for my Ellora's Cave quickie Memories Revised by Cricket Starr. This is a sequel to the award winning story Memories To Come, about a warrior trapped and dying in a prison cell, learning from the goddess Gillian what he missed by fighting instead of pursuing love with a village woman he once saved.

In the sequel we see the story from the woman's point of view. Talia asks the goddess for help in choosing between two suitors but neither is a man she feels passion for. The goddess reminds her of the one time she did desire a man...when Remak saved her. In a dream she learns more about the mysterious warrior...but will this be enough to lead her to find him?

You can read more here: Memories Revised. The story is scheduled to be released on January 24th. I love how beautiful this cover is and think it matches the mood of my story so well.

Cheers,
Janet/Cricket

I didn't win a PRISM

But I did come in second in two categories and I respect the books that won. Just making it to the finals to be listed with them is an honor.

Congratulations to the winners!

This is what my EPPIE looks like

I'll put together a better picture soon, but I really wanted to show everyone just how pretty it is.

Oh, in addition, there will be a special party over at the

EPPIE WINNER!

I am simply thrilled that ALL NIGHT INN has won the 2006 EPPIE for Best Fantasy/Paranormal Romance Novel! The awards were announced Saturday night and I just got official confirmation today, although several friends emailed me yesterday about it.

Last night I called my son and told him to go to the EPIC url where there was a picture of the award. I then told him to imagine it said "2006" and that where the author's name was it was "Janet Miller"... He burst out laughing and congratulated me.

Cheers!

Another Top Pick???

Fangs For The Memories by my alterego, Cricket Starr, is a Romantic Times Top Pick in the April Romantic Times Magazine! Since Beloved Enemy was designated a Top Pick in January, that makes two of these this year!

I couldn't be more pleased.

Cheers,
Janet/Cricket

CAPA Nominee!

The ALL NIGHT INN had been nominated for a CAPA award for 2005. This is the Cupid and Psyche Award given by The Romance Studio's reviewers. What a beautiful Valentine's Day present!

The Girl In The Box

This was one of my earliest published stories, released in 2003 by LTD Books in the Dream Quest anthology. Now that book is out of print and the rights have reverted so I thought I'd give everyone a little treat for the new year.

To put this story in perspective, it features Ganth, the son of General Garran Doranth who is the hero of my New Concepts Publishing novel Promises To Keep which was a finalist in the EPPIES competition last year. The Dream Quest anthology itself was a finalist for the PEARL awards in 2003, given by Paranormal Romance.

So, check out The Girl In The Box!

Two things to CHEER about!

First of all, my parafolk story, All Night Inn has finaled in the Romance (Fantasy/Paranormal) category of the EPPIES! This is a fantastic honor, and the second time in two years that it has happened. I'm really thrilled.

In addition, Ghosts Of Christmas Past, the second of two holiday stories I wrote this year has been released from Ellora's Cave!

This is a White Hot Holidays and Hollywood After Dark quickie, about a vampire (that is, a "nightwalker") who doesn't like to spend the holidays alone. But when he snatches a desperate woman from the sky, he brings home more than he bargained for.

Be sure to check out the excerpt!

Cheers,
Janet/Cricket
